Its been awhile since I last posted anything here so I thought that I would put up some pictures from before, during, and after Christmas break. As some of the British/Australian field hockey coaches say.... "Cheers!"

UTSS
I am now finished with 3rd year students. Only about a month left now. I went in this last Thursday to help with recording the audio exam for those coming up from Junior High School. After helping Taizo-san teach the 2nd year students I graded the students' journals and had a great conversation with Ozawa-san about the Bible. I told him that I have an hour-long commute but that I don't mind it because I always bring 2 books: a light reading book and my Bible. He started asking about the New Testament and the Old Testament and had the impression that Protestants primarily read the New Testament (which is sort of true) but I shared with him how if you understand the Old Testament you can understand the New Testament better because everything in the OT talks about Christ. I had prayed some time back for an opportunity to share with my colleagues at UTSS but hadn't seen any opportunities arise. This last Thursday was God's answer to my prayer. Praise the Lord!
Field Hockey
Last Saturday the Lady Knights had a double-header at ASIJ's field.
ASIJ v. CAJ (4-0)
YIS v. CAJ (0-1) First win!
This week has been a difficult one because we have one girl with an ankle injury and several players have been struggling with sickness. Today we were scheduled to have a game at YCAC in Yokohama but it was canceled do to poor weather (snow, sleet, cold temperatures etc). Recently we have been working on ball skills and specifically as it relates to defensive skills, interception, jab tackling, marking, and outleting.
The following are some pictures from our season and from our Alumni Field Hockey game.
