Blog 16 You do not have because you do not ask ~ James 1:5

This is a shorter blog post because I am short on time today but I am thankful for what the Lord has taught me this past week. The title of this blog has to do with what I have been thinking about in the last couple days. I do not value prayer very much in my life and I know that this needs to change. James says that we do not have because we do not ask and that if we ask God will give liberally (provided it is according to His will). He only gives us good things and He daily loads us with benefits. Prayer is a powerful thing and I want to become disciplined in it because I know that prayer helps men and women know God more. If my life is not characterized by prayer then it is a good indicator that I do not know God very well. No wonder the disciples said, "Lord, teach us how to pray." They knew how important (and how difficult) it was. If Christ prayed so often to His Father, so also should I.

I have one more week to go and I hope to finish strong. Graduation is on May 7th and my return flight to Japan is May 10th. There are lots of little things to do but I am excited to be returning to Japan very soon. Thank you for your prayers!
